LECTURES PROGRAMME 2012 January 12 "Norway's Path to Independence" St Mildreds Hall 2.30pm Fred Walker, a ship's architect and expert on all things Baltic, will give a lecture with slides. February 9 "Natural History of the Cuckmere Valley" St Mildreds 2.30pm Parick Coulcher, retired naturalist and author. A lecture with slides Please note that the January and February lectures are at 2.30 pm at St. Mildred’s Church Hall, Tenterden. March 8 "Swedish Glass - Orrefors to Ikea" Tenterden Junior School 7.30pm Andy McConnell, our popular local Antiques Roadshow glass expert will give another exuberant illustrated lecture. April 12 "Wildlife of the Everglades" Tenterden Junior School 7.30pm Ian Rumsley Dawson - the annual visit of our most popular wildlife expert. May 10 "Lutyens" Tenterden Junior School 7.30pm Tim Skelton's first visit. Tim, a Chartered Surveyor with a lifelong interest in Lutyens. June 14 "Big Cats of Kent" Tenterden Junior School 7.30pm Neil Arnold, full time researcher, will give an atmospheric and intriguing tallk into the mystery animals of Kent July 12 ""The Hazards of the Journey" Tenterden Junior School 7.30pm Imogen Corrigan, our popular historian, returns to give an illustrated lecture on Mediaeval pilgrimage and how people managed to travel such distances. August 9 "A World of Lavender" Tenterden Junior School 7.30pm Simon Charlesworth, the owner of Downderry Nursery, will give a lecture with slides on the great diversity of lavender. There will be plants for sale. September 13 "Disraeli's London" Tenterden Junior School 7.30pm Rachel Kolsky, experienced Blue Badge Guide and Lecturer on our NT cruise to Norway, will give a lecture with slides on one of her favourite subjects. October 11 "An Introduction to Astronomy" Tenterden Junior School 7.30pm Jane Green, an experienced lecturer, author and media guest who is passionate about her subject and will give a lecture with slides. November 8 Annual General Meeting Tenterden Junior School NOTE 7.00pm Our new committee member, Maurice Dalton, will give a talk about his career in The Foreign Office and his connections with the Royal Household.
